Who we are
Pick My Accountant (pickmyaccountant.co.uk) is a trading name of Elite Digital AI Solutions Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company no. 17250017), registered office 71–75 Shelton Street, London, England, WC2H 9JQ. Elite Digital AI Solutions Ltd is the data controller for personal data collected through this site. Contact: hello@pickmyaccountant.co.uk.
Data we collect
When you use our comparison tool or request quotes, we may collect: name, email address, phone number, business type, turnover band, postcode, service preferences, and consent records. When you browse, we count a small set of comparison events by day. These counters do not contain names, email addresses, postcodes, firm selections, cookies or visitor identifiers. Network requests also reach our hosting provider for site operation and security.
How and why we use your data
We use your data to match you with accountancy firms and pass your enquiry to firms you select (lawful basis: consent), to operate and improve the service and prevent abuse (legitimate interests), and to meet legal obligations. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share your enquiry with any firm you did not select.
Lead sharing
When you request quotes, we share your contact details only with the firms you explicitly select (maximum five). We may receive a fee from those firms for the introduction. Each firm is an independent data controller for its own communications with you — their use of your data is governed by their privacy policies, and you can withdraw from contact with them directly.
Claims, reviews and general enquiries
When you claim a practice, we store your contact information, the details you supply, and evidence or notes used to check ownership. When you submit a review, we store your name, email, rating, experience and client relationship for verification before publication. General contact messages are used to respond to your enquiry.
Newsletter launch list
The newsletter has not launched. If you opt in, we record your email, signup date and permission to send a launch notification. You can remove your signup using the management link shown after signing up, or by contacting us. This signup does not give permission to share your email with accounting firms.
Hosting and operational access
Cloudflare hosts the site and stores requests for us. Authorised operators can access saved requests to handle introductions, corrections and verification. Internal notification emails contain a request reference rather than your enquiry details. Request throttling uses a short-lived hash of the network address; the application does not store the plain address in these records.
Business listing data
Firm profiles include information from public sources, including the Companies House register (company numbers, registered addresses, filing status). This is public business data published under Companies House terms. Sole traders and partners whose business data identifies them can exercise the rights below over it.
Retention
Enquiries, claim requests and review submissions are retained for up to 24 months from submission, then deleted. Newsletter launch-list entries are removed when you unsubscribe or after 24 months. Anonymous daily funnel totals are retained for up to 13 months. Hashed rate-limit records expire after 20 minutes.
Cookies
We use essential cookies and local storage for site functionality (for example, comparison wizard state). We minimise non-essential tracking; where any is introduced, we will ask for consent first.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object to, and port your data, and to withdraw consent at any time. Email hello@pickmyaccountant.co.uk — we respond within one month. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
